Born in 1964 in Mersin, Dr. Mustafa Erol pursued his passion for medicine and entered Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1983. After graduating successfully in 1989, he completed his surgical residency at Izmir Tepecik Hospital and earned the title of specialist surgeon. In 1996, he started working as a specialist doctor at Balikesir City State Hospital, where he served as Deputy Chief Physician starting in 2016. He then returned to Izmir in 2018 and worked in various private hospitals. In 2023, he founded DRMECLINIC and began serving patients at his own clinic.

Throughout more than 35 years of practice, Dr. Erol has stood out for his deep expertise in obesity surgery and the innovative techniques he has developed. He performs all procedures with meticulous precision. Thanks to his expertise in bariatric surgery and the advanced techniques he has refined through national and international training, his patients are able to walk shortly after surgery, experience a smooth and low‑pain recovery, and are discharged in a very short time.

Dr. Erol is a member of the International Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Society, the National Surgical Society, and many other prestigious scientific organizations.

Holding more than 50 national and international certificates, Dr. Erol received the WhatClinic Service Award in 2024. In 2025, he was accredited by the prestigious U.S.-based Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as a Master Surgeon in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery—an honor awarded to only a very limited number of surgeons worldwide.
