My Journey in Medicine

Early Years and Education

I was born in Mersin in 1964. From a young age, I was drawn to medicine; the workings of the human body fascinated me and the desire to help others guided me. That passion led me, in 1983, to Ege University Faculty of Medicine — one of Turkey's most established medical schools.

After graduating in 1989, I completed my General Surgery residency at Izmir Tepecik Hospital and became a general surgery specialist in 1996. That rigorous training laid the foundation for my 35+ year surgical career.
